LIP BLUSH PRECARE

Please note
everyone’s skin heals differently. POSTCARE INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN AT YOUR APPT.

Anti-Virals

As a necessary precaution, if you have ever had a cold sore in your life, you will be required to take an anti-viral prescribed by your doctor (i.e. Valtrex). Cold sore outbreaks are often triggered by stress or trauma to the lips and skin and can effect the healing and results. Therefore if you are a carrier, lip blush will likely cause an outbreak if you do not take an anti-viral medication prior. The medication should be taken for a total of 4 days before and 4 days after the procedure. There are absolutely NO exceptions to this rule! This rule holds true for every time you have any lip tattoo.

Lip Scrub

It is vital to come to your appointment with smooth, moisturized lips for the best results. Please use a sugar or lip scrub 3-4 nights prior to your lip blush treatment. Do it once more the morning before your appointment. Scrub lips for 2-3 minutes and wipe off the excess. Moisturize lips right after with a thick mask of coconut oil, RUMI ROSE argan oil, shea butter, or Aquaphor. Let that sit for 15-20 minutes. You may alternatively purchase a lip scrub from your local drugstore or on Amazon.

Keep Lips Moisturized and Stay Hydrated

Drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water per day will keep you and your lips well hydrated. Please avoid any lipsticks for 72 hours prior to your appointment as they tend to dry out the lips. Use a hydrating lip balm like Rumi Rose Lip Balm or Aquaphor instead!

Eat

A lip blush procedure takes roughly 3 hours from start to finish. Make sure you have something in your stomach (except caffeine or alcohol).

Fillers + Facial Treatments

Clients who have lip fillers can get a lip blush tattoo. However, fillers should be done at least four weeks prior to or after the lip blush appointment for best results. If you use exfoliating products at home, such as Vitamin C serums or Retinoids Nika recommends taking a break from these for at least two weeks prior to and after your appointment. The same goes for facial waxing, lasers, botox, and chemical peels. Lastly, please avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure for 2 weeks before and after the procedure.

What to Avoid

Do NOT drink alcohol the night before or drink caffeine the day you are to have your procedure. Do NOT take any blood thinning medications at least one week before your appointment, these include but not limited to: Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Ibuprofen, etc. If taking antibiotics, the last dose must be taken 2 months prior to the lip blush procedure.
